New Testament Bible Events
Introduction to New Testament Event Study
In my search for information about the events that occurred in the period of time covered from Acts to Revelation, I uncovered two resources worthy of mention:
- Link to Bible Chronology
- This resource is most complete but beyond the scope of this study.
- Link to Bible Hub timeline
- This resource is the one used in our Old Testament events study; however, I would like to add more detail as we cover Acts.
- Acts, unlike the books that follow, is primarily about events. The books that follow are mainly about doctrine and application.
- I want to add more events from Acts than the resource we are following, by using the ESV section titles as event titles, as the index below shows.

- nte038 James Writes his Letter — James
James is a pastoral, wisdom‑filled letter written to Jewish Christians scattered across the Roman world after facing persecution and displacement. Its context is deeply practical: these believers were navigating poverty, social tension, trials, and the pressure to compromise under hardship. James writes as a spiritual shepherd—likely the leader of the Jerusalem church—calling them back to an authentic, lived‑out faith shaped by the teachings of Jesus. The letter addresses real‑life issues such as endurance in suffering, controlling the tongue, resisting temptation, caring for the vulnerable, rejecting favoritism, and pursuing genuine righteousness. In a world where external pressures threatened to fracture their faith, James urges them to demonstrate the reality of their belief through steadfast obedience, humble wisdom, and a life that reflects Christ in everyday conduct.
